Course detailsA practical programme in community medical services and essential drugs for primary healthcare support in rural and semi-urban areas.
Community Medical Services and Essential Drugs (CMS & ED) is designed for people who want to support primary healthcare in places where doctors are few and distances are long. The programme focuses on recognising common illnesses, providing first aid, understanding essential medicines and knowing when a patient must be referred to a hospital.
Students learn the basics of the human body, common diseases, hygiene, maternal and child health, and the safe use of essential drugs. The emphasis is on community service — educating people about prevention, sanitation and timely treatment.
Eligibility conditions are set by the concerned council, board or university and may change from session to session. Our admission counsellors confirm your eligibility before you take admission.
